Missoula show tickets: start at the venue's own source

A good show night starts with the right ticket. This guide tells you how to find a show in Missoula, check it at the source, and buy from the venue or its promoter. It also lists the house rules for one downtown club, so you know what to bring.

Find the show first

Start with a calendar that puts every room on one page. The Missoula concerts page on MissoulaTonight lists every show on the calendar for the next six months. It also keeps the shows that already played this year. That history tells you which rooms book the kind of music you like.

The calendar refreshes twice a day, around 5 am and 4 pm Mountain time. When a venue announces a show in the morning, the show usually appears after the afternoon refresh. If a friend tells you about a new show at lunch, look again after 4 pm.

Check the venue's own posting

Every event page on MissoulaTonight links to its sources. Open that link before you buy. The venue's own page has the last word on the door time, the price, the age limit, and any change.

When a venue cancels or moves a show, the calendar marks the listing as soon as the sources show the change. But the venue always knows first. On the day of the show, look at the venue's own page one more time.

Buy from the venue or its promoter

Each venue sells tickets its own way. Some use a promoter. Some take a cover charge at the door. The source link on the event page shows you where to go.

Logjam Presents runs the Top Hat, the Wilma, and KettleHouse Amphitheater. For these three rooms, buy through the Logjam Presents ticketing page or the ticket link on the Logjam event page. Those links sell tickets at face value.

Watch out for look-alike sites. One unofficial KettleHouse Amphitheater site is not the venue, and its ticket links go to a resale broker. If a site is not the venue or its promoter, close the tab and go back to the source link.

Read the price line

Many listings show two prices. "Adv" is the price when you buy in advance. "Dos" is the price on the day of the show. On most listings with two prices, the day-of price is higher. Buy early when you can.

Some listings say "Free" or "No cover". Others show a price range. In a room with more than one seating area, the price can change with the seat.

Know the house rules: the Top Hat

Each room has its own rules. Here are the Logjam rules for the Top Hat, a 550-capacity club at 134 W Front St. Touring acts and local bills share its calendar.

  • Ages: all ages by house policy. Shows that run past 10 pm can be 18+ or 21+. The event page tells you which.

  • Under 16: a parent or guardian must be on site.

  • ID: bring a physical government ID. Digital IDs are not accepted.

  • Seating: usually general admission. A small number of bench seats, on the floor and in the raised areas, go first come, first served.

  • Bags: no bags larger than 13 by 13 inches, no strollers, and no outside food or drinks.

  • Re-entry: no re-entry at ticketed shows. Ticket holders can use the back patio, where smoking is allowed. On cover-charge nights, you can go out and come back in while there is room.

  • Accessibility: to buy ADA tickets, send an email to boxoffice@logjampresents.com. One request covers two people: the patron and one companion.

The ID rule is the same at all three Logjam rooms. A phone ID will not get you in, so put the card in your wallet before you leave.

A short checklist

  1. Find the show on the calendar.

  2. Open the source link on the event page.

  3. Buy from the venue or its promoter, not from a look-alike site.

  4. Write down the door time, the age limit, and the bag rule.

  5. Check the venue's own page again on the day of the show.
