Creating a Jam

Creating a Jam

Creating a Jam is the fastest way to report a bug with all the technical context engineers need to fix it. You can capture issues in real-time using the Jam browser extension or the iOS app.

How to Capture a Jam

Once you have the Jam extension installed, you can create a Jam in three simple steps:

  1. Open the Extension: Click the Jam icon in your browser toolbar or use a keyboard shortcut.

  2. Select Capture Type: Choose whether you want to take a screenshot or record a video (Screen Recording or Instant Replay).

  3. Share: Once captured, Jam automatically generates a link that you can paste into your project management tool, Slack, or email.

What's Included in Every Jam

Every time you create a Jam, it automatically bundles essential debugging information without any manual effort from the reporter:

  • Visual Context: Annotated screenshots or screen recordings.

  • Metadata: Technical details including URL, timestamp, device info, browser version, and OS.

  • Developer Details: Console logs and network requests are captured automatically to help engineers debug faster.

  • Video Recording: Best for reproducing complex workflows.

  • Instant Replay: Captures the last 30 seconds of your activity, so you never miss a bug that already happened.
