Adding Troopr to Your Team Channels

Overview

To help Troopr coordinate your work, it needs to be present in the Slack channels where your team communicates. Adding the Troopr bot to a channel allows it to see activity, trigger AI issue creation, and deliver automated reports or standup summaries directly to your team.

How to add Troopr to a channel

Users can add Troopr to any public or private channel in just a few seconds. There are two primary ways to do this:

Option 1: Use the invite command

The fastest way to bring Troopr into a conversation is by using a standard Slack mention. Follow these steps:

1. Open the Slack channel where you want to use Troopr.

2. Type /invite @Troopr in the message bar and press Enter.

3. Troopr will join the channel immediately and provide a brief confirmation message.

Option 2: Use Channel Settings

If you prefer using the Slack interface, you can add the app through the channel details menu:

1. Click the channel name at the top of your Slack window to open the channel details.

2. Select the Integrations tab.

3. Click on Add an App.

4. Search for "Troopr" and click Add next to the app name.

Why add Troopr to your channels?

Once Troopr is a member of your channel, it can perform several core tasks to save your team time:

• Task It: Users can turn any Slack message into a Jira issue using emoji reactions or message actions.

• Automated Standups: Troopr can post daily standup reports that it drafts based on your team's real activity in Jira and GitHub.

• Nudges and Reports: Scheduled reports regarding overdue or stale Jira issues can be delivered to the channel to keep the project on track.

Note: For private channels, Troopr can only see activity and messages once it has been explicitly invited by a member of that channel.
